File review

DayZ File Comparison Tools

Compare DayZ file versions before upload so owners can see what changed and avoid overwriting good edits.

Before upload

File Comparison shows the difference between two versions.

Use it before updating types, events, economy files, or other server configuration files.

Staff can check what changed, decide what should stay, and avoid uploading the wrong version because two files looked similar.

Code reducer tool
File tools help owners inspect large text files.

What comparison catches

This reduces bad uploads. A server owner can spot missing entries, accidental deletions, and copied sections before they break something.

It also helps when merging updates after Bohemia changes files or when moving between wipe versions.

Commands

  1. Use /file download to get the current server file before comparing.
  2. Use the comparison tools to review the old file against the new file.
  3. Use /file upload after staff have checked the differences.
  4. Use /file gameplay edit for supported gameplay-file edits when you do not need a full manual merge.

Before uploading

  • Never compare from memory. Download the current file first.
  • For large XML updates, review both missing entries and changed values before uploading.
